Ruth died on the 1st September 2007 after she took her life at the age of 17 years. She loved running, St John Ambulance, church and cared about others. When things got tough particularly with the bullying she would put belts round her neck. This was so hard to see and on many occasions we cut them up to stop her. On her final year at school she had to drop 2 A levels and became very stressed. We tried to get help for Ruth and failed. In addition she was looking to change her Saturday job which just added to the problem. Ruth had the biggest heart, she knew I liked Westlife and would always get the Albums as presents for birthdays and Christmas. She bought me a beautiful necklace shaped like an apple in green so all she gave to me was precious. However when it came to ten pin bowling she hated it if I won so in the end I decided to let her beat me. Our last trip as a family was bowling and I have a great photo of us all. whatever rumours of our beautiful daughter and sister we know the truth. To the bullies Ruth was so much better than you, she actually saw the good in you when I was full of anger. Sarah said God needed another angel so he took Ruth it is the only way we can deal with our loss and just cannot understand
